  1. Jon and I loved Dave so much, as we love "our" Dorothy. That's how we always refer to Dave and Dorothy...as "our Dave and Dorothy". They "belong" to so many because of their kindness. Dave brought us into his and Dorothy's Life Group quite a few years ago now and Jon tells everyone that Dave (and his best guy friend, Dan) were instrumental in "loving him into faith in Christ". Heaven has a new talented gardener today! We love the dear Phillips family and are praying for you all. We already miss Dave dearly. All our close friends and family have heard of our love for Dave and Dorothy! They know they adopted us and helped us "hatch" into a new Life Group. What a loving, wonderful home these two shared with all of us! Dave will always be with us.

  2. Pam - Please know that we are praying for your family here in Denton! To know that your Daddy is praising the one true God is just so awesome! To know that he has received his crown and knows all the splendor and joy and truth that we here must accept by faith is comforting! I so pray for each of you to have peace as you walk through the sadness and grief that losing a loved one brings. Even knowing very well they will be waiting for you to also be called home. You are not saying Good-Bye you will be saying until we meet again! Oh that your Father's love for Jesus will spill out of each of us to all that we meet! Our Moms in Prayer Group will be praying over your family this morning and every time our hearts are tugged - you each will be lifted! You are loved and missed here in Denton and will be welcomed home with abundant love! Rest dear sister, rest in the love of your family and the peace of your savior! Let's Bless the Organizations you chose to honor your Daddy!!! Church Camp in Cali is AMAZING!- DeCole Cody (Isabelle's Mom)

  3. Dave was known by many for his kind words of encouragement, faith, and love for God and others. He will be sorely missed but we are thankful to know that he is finally home.

  4. Sunday mornings, 8:30am service, FCCHB. Sammy and I always made sure we left 15 minutes early for service so we could always visit 2 of our very favorite friends, Dave & Dorothy. I nicknamed them the official FCC greeters. Every Sunday, unless they were in TX, there they were, same 2 seats. Row 2, seats 1 & 2. I would always get my BIG welcome hug from Dave. Sometimes I would have to stand in line to get my hug as he always had plenty to share. Dorothy too! When got created these 2 people he truly broke the mold. We would tease them that when they were away we would always keep their seats warm for them. Dave loved that. Sammy and I will continue to keep your seat warm Dave. We'll be right there next to Dorothy every Sunday but now we've moved up a row. We will sure miss you.

  5. Dave was one of the strongest, most loyal and dedicated advocates for the Mission Ministries; Dave, you always fought the good fight to protect all those who God had put in FCC's care; it was an honor to sit at the table with you, to learn from you, you will be missed. We take heart in knowing that we will meet again and that you will welcome us with open arms like you did every weekend. We are praying for Dorothy and your family, may the Lord bless them and give them peace. We will all miss our "Moses" as I like to think of you, you led many out of bondage and through the wilderness to "New Life."
